Detect computer inactivity

TimeTraces can detect when your computer has become inactive.  When you are registering time while the computer is inactive, this probably means that you have walked away from your computer and forgot to stop the time registration.  In this situation you can let TimeTraces ask you what to do with the inactive time period.  Your computer becomes inactive when you no longer use the mouse and keyboard or when you hibernate the computer or put it on standby.

The "Detected computer inactivity" window will be shown automatically by TimeTraces when:

  • you have enabled inactivity detection in the "Settings" window,
  • the computer has become inactive for longer than the threshold number of minutes in the "Settings" window, and
  • when TimeTraces is actively registering time on a project.

Note that this feature is only available on computers running Windows 7, Vista, XP or 2000.
