Get help

If you are not sure what options are available to you, or what a certain button will do, help is never far away.  From within the main window, you simply select "Help \ How to use TimeTraces" from the menu.  Furthermore, each window has its own specific help page which lists the window's purpose and all its available options.  The window-specific help pages can be accessed by pressing the "F1" key in the windows.
